WELCOME to DIFFERENT TALES ANIMAL RESCUE

Different Tales Animal Rescue is an independent private run rescue in which animals are either rescued, rehabilitated or re-homed and in some cases, all three!  We hope to cover as many aspects of putting their lives back on track as possible.  We are based in East Sussex and will re-home WITHIN SOUTH-EAST ENGLAND

This is  an entirely voluntary organisation.  No monies come to or pass through this rescue. We do not run this rescue as a business.  It is about the animals, and also the care givers too, living a happy and fulfilled life with them.  Animals help people in so many ways including at times undertaking important rescue jobs themselves.

Our rescue 'Differentiates'

We strive on promoting PREVENTION. One of the ways we do this, is to ensure    Re EDUCATION is obtainable.

HOW?  It's all Here !!

Provided is information on Care, Training, Behaviour and Understanding; even medical assistance!  There are true stories to be found in Buddy's Story, Happy Tales and Rescue Stories that give a wonderful insight.  In addition, our GET INVOLVED programme is here and available to you - why not check out policy 8 ?!! (see further down page)

Two quick behaviour tips to keep in mind to get you started with our website:

  • Animals look to their leader for guidance.  If you are panicking, they will too.

  • Is your dog not allowing anyone through the door?  Barking at them a lot?  Don't let your pet feel that they have to take charge.

DIFFERENT TALES ANIMAL RESCUE POLICIES

Primary Prevention Policies 1, 2 and 3, 7 and 8.

Assistance Prevention and After Care Policies 4, 5 and 6.

1. To prevent animals finding themselves in difficult and unpleasant situations.

2. To help keep pets with their families and re-home only as a very last resort.

3. To help animals currently in danger.

4. To offer a service of locating suitable new accommodation for homeless hounds whenever possible.

5. When re-homing, to obtain all relevant information, to home check and to intricately match.

6. Before re-homing neutering, vaccinating and micro-chipping will be carried out as often as possible.  If circumstances have led to any of these not being completed in time for whatever reason, we will follow up thoroughly all necessary preventive medical procedures to ensure completion immediately.

7. That everyone here is experienced and knowledgeable in a vast range of animal care.

8. GET INVOLVED ! Programme (its simple but effective!!) Please go to any of our recommended links below to get involved in helping our animals. Here you will find lots of different ways to actively help including petitions to start your own active watch group.

Humane Slaughter in British Abattoirs a 'Sham' ....... Something
we all should watch!

National campaigning group Animal Aid has released footage taken  secretly at three randomly chosen abattoirs, which offers an  unprecedented close-up of the true inner workings of typical British
slaughterhouses that kill pigs, sheep and cattle. The film  convincingly disposes of the myth of stress- and pain-free ‘humane  slaughter’. The 40 hours of footage shows more than 1,500 animals  being stunned and more than 1,000 being killed. Animal Aid anticipates  the revelations will provoke a plain-speaking debate involving  consumers, politicians, regulators and the industry.
