CHESTER

Thought you would like an update on Chester, who we adopted from you a couple of months ago.

Chester has enjoyed a nice Christmas with plenty of turkey and nice presents. He's finally calming down and listening to us more, and we can now let him off lead in the park. He's made a few doggie friends locally and gets on very well with the Westies from across the road. There is even talk of a doggie sleep over party! He also has a few fans among the humans that live in the town. Everyone is fascinated by his ears and is baffled by his breeding - half GSD and half Corgi the vet said. Very odd! But very colourful and unique.

As Chester loves car journeys so much, we are now in the process of getting him a doggie passport so he can join us on our day trips to France - we live 20 minutes from Dover port and often pop over for lunch. The French are going to adore him!

He's certainly not a morning dog, though. It takes him half an hour to wake up first thing and even the offer of breakfast won't get his botty off the nice warm sofa. We've never come across a dog that likes a lay in before!

Take care and keep up the good work!

CHESTER - one year on!

Hiya

It's a year today since we adopted Chester from you and I thought you would like an update.

He remains a cheeky little soul and his recall will never be perfect. We have learned to overlook his short comings (no bin bag is safe around him!) but whatever little sins he commits are completely out numbered by the laughs and joy we has bought to our home. We often say we should write a book about his capers... like the time he gave us the slip on his walk and we found him in the back of a butcher's van munching his way through a pound of sausages!

He is a minor celebrity in the village now as he is always so cheerful and so eager to meet new people and their dogs. He's never had a bad mood or a bad day. Most people now greet him by name when they see him coming even though they don't know OUR names!

We thought we would mark this important day by presenting Chester with a Postman's leg. He was beside himself! And yes, although it took him the best part of 5 minutes planning he did manage to hoist it onto the sofa for his afternoon nap!

We can see why his naughty ways might prove too much for some people but it's a shame that such a placid little dog who has never shown any malice went through so many homes before he ended with us. His chip papers told us we are the 7th people to have owned him. Maybe this is why rescue dogs need extra time to settle. They must forever be wondering when they are going to get booted out again.

Anyway, we wouldn't be without him now. Thanks for doing all the wonderful work you do.

Regards,

Julie

MADDIE

Here is the gorgeous Maddie looking very settled and happy in her new home.  Maddie was rescued from the pound and now has a wonderful new life to enjoy.

Apparently Maddie snores very loudly!

LEYLA

Hi Emma

Please find attached a photo of Leyla. She is just perfect, she has settled in and its just like we have always had her. She loves her walks over the fields and goes bonkers in the sea trying to catch the waves. Keep up the good work Emma and thank you for putting us together with Leyla.
